In this article, I will break down all Vultr web hosting types and their pricing, and also, what is the best web hosting plan for you.
Vultr Cloud Compute Pricing
We can call this plan the general cloud VPS plan, as with this plan you get a server with dedicated resources like RAMs and Storage space on a shared physical CPU.
This plan is a suitable option for small to medium business websites and blogs, and small eCommerce websites. It offers all infrastructure and the requirements your website needs.
The Vultr Cloud Compute plan has 3 plans inside it, and each one has its features and pricing. These plans are Regular Performance, High Frequency, and High Performance (AMD and Intel).
Vultr Regular Performance Pricing:
The Vultr Regular Performance is powered by previous-generation Intel CPUs and regular SSD, and it’s the cheapest plan.
the Vultr Regular Performance Pricing starts at $2.50 per month, but it’s not recommended. I recommend starting with the 1GB RAM for a $5/month plan. Read why?
For the Vultr $5 per month pricing plan you get a cloud VPS server with dedicated resources on a shared CPU of 1 GB RAM memory, 1 CPU Processor, 1 TB Bandwidth, and 25 GB SSD Storage Space.
For the Vultr $10 per month pricing plan you get a cloud VPS server with dedicated resources on a shared CPU of 2 GB RAM memory, 1 CPU Processor, 2 TB Bandwidth, and 55 GB SSD Storage Space.
Vultr High-Performance Pricing:
The Vultr High-Performance is powered by new generations of AMD EPYC or Intel Xeon CPUs and NVMe SSD.
Vultr offers two types of High-Performance plans, AMD CPUs and Intel CPUs and the pricing is identical. So you can choose what CPU process you like.
the Vultr High-Performance Pricing starts at $6 per month for both the AMD and Intel servers.
For this $6 plan, you get a cloud VPS server with dedicated resources on a shared CPU of 1 GB RAM memory, 1 AMD EPYC or Intel Xeon CPU Processor, 2 TB Bandwidth, and 25 GB NVMe SSD Storage Space.
For the $12/month plan, you get a cloud VPS server with dedicated resources on a shared CPU of 2 GB RAM memory, 1 AMD EPYC or Intel Xeon CPU Processor, 3 TB Bandwidth, and 50 GB NVMe SSD Storage Space.
Vultr High-Frequency Pricing:
The Vultr High Frequency is powered by 3GHz+ Intel Xeon CPUs and NVMe SSD. No AMD CPUs are included in this plan.
the Vultr Regular Frequency pricing starts at $6 per month.
For this $6 pricing, you get a cloud VPS server with dedicated resources on a shared CPU of 1 GB RAM memory, 1 Intel Xeon CPU Processor, 1 TB Bandwidth, and 32 GB NVMe SSD Storage Space.
The $12/month plan, will get you a cloud VPS server with dedicated resources on a shared CPU of 2 GB RAM memory, 1 Intel Xeon CPU Processor, 2 TB Bandwidth, and 64 GB NVMe SSD Storage Space.
Vultr Regular Performance vs High Performance vs High-Frequency Pricing:
There are a few differences between the Cloud Compute “Regular Performance, High Performance, and High Frequency ” plans and pricing.
Let’s take the 1GB RAM plan as an example to compare the three of them.
1 GB Plan in the Regular Performance costs $5/month, but you get a previous-generation Intel CPU processor and a regular SSD storage space, which is not bad at all. Most web hosting providers offer SSD disks.
In the High Frequency, the 1GB RAM plan costs $6 a month and offers the same resources the Regular plan offers, except, you get more storage space and a server powered by the powerful 3GHz+ Intel Xeon CPUs and the fast NVMe SSD disk.
1 GB Plan in the High Performance costs $6 per month, and you get to choose to host your web application on 1 AMD EPYC Processor or Intel Xeon CPU Processor. It also offers the fast NVMe SSD storage space.
The high-performance plan offers more bandwidth but less storage than the high-frequency plan.
Vultr Pricing: The Conclusion
Vultr proved that it’s one of the best cloud hosting providers -if not the best- on many occasions. And we tried it. Read Vultr review.
Based on how big your website is, you can choose a suitable plan for it. A simple portfolio or brand new website doesn’t require a 2 CPUs processor.
The 1 GB plan is suitable to run your small business or blog, and when you increase your website traffic and customers you can easily scale up your plan.
